Keynote Speaker
Dr. Janet Dudley-Eschbach
During her 18-year tenure as President of Salisbury University (SU) Dr. Dudley-Eschbach made many significant changes and improvements to promote global education, diversity, inclusion, and equity. In 2006, she opened SU’s Center for International Education which housed the Study Abroad Office, the International Student and Scholar Services Office, and the English Language Institute. As a result, the number of SU students studying abroad has nearly quadrupled, and the number of international students enrolled full-time at SU has tripled. In 2012, she opened the International Faculty House, which provides accommodations for teachers, scholars, artists, and researchers from around the world, allowing SU to host about 10 global visitors annually. Under her leadership she transformed SU into a global organization with more than 40 active institutional partnerships in dozens of countries on five continents, which ultimately led SU to be recognized in 2016 by the Institute for International Education as one of the top 40 master’s comprehensive universities in the U.S. for credits earned abroad. Dr. Dudley-Eschbach obtained her Ph.D. in Latin American Literature and Spanish from El Colegio de Mexico. She attributes her intellectual development and career growth to her experiences in other countries.
